The Kiribati Audit Office is led by the Auditor-General, supported by the Deputy Auditor-General and senior management. The Office is structured to deliver independent and professional audit services while maintaining the administrative and technical support required for effective operations.

Auditor-General - Eriati Tauma Manaima

Mr Eriati Tauma Manaima has served as Auditor-General of Kiribati since 2019. He brings extensive experience in public finance, government and international development and provides overall leadership of the Kiribati Audit Office, ensuring independent and professional audit of public resources.

The Auditor-General is the head of the Kiribati Audit Office and is responsible for overseeing the audit of public accounts and promoting accountability across government. The position operates independently and is not subject to the direction or control of any person or authority in carrying out its statutory functions.

Deputy Auditor-General - Ioanna Taurannang

Ms Ioanna Taurannang serves as Deputy Auditor-General of the Kiribati Audit Office and has a strong background in public-sector auditing and organisational development. She supports the Auditor-General in leading the Office, overseeing audit operations and strengthening staff capability, audit quality and institutional performance.

The Deputy Auditor-General supports the Auditor-General in the leadership, management and coordination of the Office. The role assists in overseeing organisational priorities and ensuring that audit sections work effectively toward the Office’s mandate and strategic objectives.

The Office is organised into specialised audit sections covering Central Government, State-Owned Enterprises, Local Government, Government Projects and Performance Audit, supported by Registry, Administration and Corporate Services.

Audit teams include Principal Auditors, Senior Auditors, Auditors, Assistant Auditors and Account Examiners, with ICT and technical support available across audit sections as required.
